Nebraska men's basketball coach Tim Miles said senior forward Shavon Shields is making some improvement from his concussion and neck strain injury but won't play in Saturday's game against Penn State.
Miles wasn't even for certain if Shields, who suffered the injury last Saturday, would be able to attend the game.
"Shavon, I think we're making progress," Miles said at a Friday news conference, noting Shields has been able to take the baseline test, which is the first step in the concussion protocol process.
Miles said Shields' spirit and mood was good when he attended some of Thursday's practice.
