Former Nebraska basketball player Shavon Shields was recognized for his efforts in the classroom Tuesday, as he named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court.
The honor is presented to players who are a junior or senior academically at an institution and posted a GPA of 3.20 or better at the conclusion of the 2015-16 academic year. This is the third straight year that Shields has been recognized by the NABC.
As a senior, he earned second-team All-Big Ten honors this past season, averaging 16.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.
