Lincoln - Nebraska's Jessica Shepard claimed her sixth Big Ten Freshman-of-the-Week award in the first nine weeks of the season on Monday.
The 6-4 forward from Fremont, Neb., produced one of the top scoring and rebounding performances in school history with 29 points and a career-high 19 rebounds in Nebraska's 73-57 win over Illinois on Sunday. Shepard's 19 rebounds were the second-most in school history by a freshman and matched Nebraska's highest rebound total by any player since 1999.
Shepard came up just one point and one rebound short of the first 30-point, 20-rebound performance in Nebraska history.
