Nebraska guard Jaz Shelley put together an efficient opening-game effort to help the Australian National Team to a 76-65 victory over Chinese Taipei in the opening game of Group B pool play at the 2021 Asia Cup in Amman, Jordan on Monday.
Shelley, a 5-9 sophomore guard from Moe, Australia, scored six points while adding one rebound, one assist, one steal and one blocked shot in just under 15 minutes off the bench for the Opals. Shelley, who arrived in Jordan late last week to join her Opal teammates, went 2-for-4 from the field with a pair of three-pointers.
