Shatel: From Bordeaux, France to Nebraska, Dana Holgorsen's mission is to always learn more

Column by TOM SHATEL Omaha World-Herald

Meet Dana Holgorsen: International man of mystery.

Most of us know Nebraska’s offensive coordinator as the man of a thousand play-calls — most of those through the air.

We see his resume, with stops in Lubbock, Stillwater and Houston, and assume he’s a creature of the southwest. Holed up in an office breaking down offensive film with a sack of Whataburger on the desk, creating plays that can negotiate the wide open prairie winds.

Holgorsen is the football kin to brainiacs like LaVell Edwards, Steve Spurrier, John Jenkins, Hal Mumme and Mike Leach.
