Connie Yori knew No. 5 Ohio State would give her Nebraska women's basketball team a stiff challenge Thursday in Columbus, Ohio.
The Buckeyes average 85 points a game and have the nation's fourth-leading scorer in Kelsey Mitchell.
"We needed to hold them below their average to be able to win," Yori said. The Huskers were unable to do that, losing 96-70 to the Buckeyes, who shot 52.7 percent from the field.
Ohio State (22-4, 14-1 Big Ten) led 26-17 after the first period, but NU used a 9-2 run to pull to 32-26 with 6:20 left in the half.
