Nebraska is breaking out alternate uniforms for its Nov. 10 home game against Illinois and is going for an homage to an old team.
The uniforms, shown online by the school's official Twitter account, are a throwback to the 1923 Huskers.
That team was the first to play in Memorial Stadium, which hosted its first football game Oct. 20, 1923. This year also marks the 100-year anniversary of the end of World War I, and the uniforms pay tribute to veterans of that war from the state.
Traditions never die.
Celebrating the pillars that started it all.
