Senior safety Tre Neal on Monday put responsibility for two critical Colorado passing plays squarely on himself and Nebraska’s safeties.
The graduate transfer, who played two years in this defense at Central Florida, said sophomore cornerback Dicaprio Bootle did exactly what he was supposed to on completions of 37 yards and 40 to receiver Laviska Shenault that set up CU’s final two scores, including the game-winner with 66 seconds remaining.
Shenault was lined up in the slot on both plays and had ample room to widen out his fade routes. Bootle’s responsibility was to play inside leverage and count safety help over the top to the outside.
