Manunda, Queensland, Australia - Natalie Romeo scored a game-high 32 points, but the short-handed Nebraska women's basketball team dropped a 79-73 decision to Cairns at the Cairns Basketball Stadium on Thursday.
Romeo, a 5-7 sophomore guard from Martinez, Calif., knocked down five three-pointers and hit 11-of-28 shots from the field overall while also going 5-for-5 at the free throw line. Romeo was the only Husker to produce double figures, as Nebraska wrapped up a stretch of three games in three days after making the trip from Melbourne to Cairns on Thursday.
Junior post Allie Havers added seven points and a team-high 12 rebounds, while Maddie Simon and Jasmine Cincore each pitched in seven points as well.
