Riley Confident as Huskers Near Season Opener

Lincoln, Neb. - The Nebraska football team practiced for 90 minutes in full pads on Thursday, with the defense working out in the Hawks Championship Center and the offense inside Memorial Stadium.

Head Coach Mike Riley met with the media after practice to discuss the Huskers’ season opener against Fresno State on Saturday.

“I feel great going into the game,” Riley said. “I believe our guys will be fresh and our goal has obviously been to have them prepared. If we can play fast and prepared, then we’ll be all right.”

Riley mentioned that sophomore safety Antonio Reed will not be playing in the Huskers’ season opener against Fresno State due to a minor knee injury.
