Sean Callahan of HuskersOnline/Rivals has reported that Redshirt Freshman Linebacker Greg Simmons has left the Nebraska Football program.
Simmons, a LB out of Fort Pierce, Florida, was working with the 3rd string Defense mostly throughout Spring camp.
Simmons spent last season mostly working on the Scout team defense. Simmons was injured in a scrimmage halfway through the Fall Camp period last year, being carted off for a jammed neck inside Memorial Stadium.
Simmons was likely not going to be able to see the field in the near future unless it was for Special Teams.
