Oakland (Michigan) University is expected to announce Steve Waterfield as its new athletic director on Tuesday, sources told ESPN.
Waterfield has been an executive associate A.D. at Nebraska since 2013, most recently overseeing marketing, communications, creative and emerging media, the spirit squad, HuskerVision and licensing and branding. He also served as liaison to IMG and the Big Ten Network.
Waterfield joined Nebraska after two years as a senior administrator at Miami. While in Coral Gables, Florida, Waterfield oversaw sports medicine, strategic operations, facilities and maintenance, capital projects and construction, along with the men's and women's basketball programs.
