Nebraska flexed in a big way, finishing with 383 rushing yards and 8.9 per carry. Devine Ozigbo jump-started the day with his 40-yard touchdown run on the opening series. On the third series, Ozigbo sped through initial traffic en route to a career-long 59-yard touchdown run. Adrian Martinez lost a fumble in the second quarter, but quickly atoned with a 53-yard run. Maurice Washington's tough running was key in the third quarter. The maligned offensive line came up big.
Martinez's nine-yard touchdown strike to JD Spielman was a bullet and pushed the lead to 28-0. The freshman finished 25-for-29 for 276 yards and three touchdowns, with no interceptions.
