As Nebraska prepares to enter the second half of its season, it seems a natural time to check in on the status of several players who entered the season with redshirt eligibility.
With the number of newcomers to the program in Scott Frost’s first year here and also the first year of the NCAA’s new four-game redshirt rule, it felt in August like the process of determining who uses a year of eligibility, who doesn’t and how the games are managed might turn into a major, complex process.
Instead, in part because of performance, in part because of injury and attrition, there are really only a few players whose status at this point could still go either way.
