In helping to build the Boomer Esiason Foundation from an idea into a charity that’s raised around $140 million over the past 24 years, Dave Rimington wasn’t afraid to wear many hats.
In fact, he embraced it. Whether it was learning Photoshop, basic web design or non-profit policy and law, the former Husker great took a hands-on approach to leading.
“As an interim, you don’t want to go and micromanage in a situation when you’re going to be gone in 30-60 days,” he said in a Thursday phone interview with the Journal Star. “You can’t get in there and get under the hood because there’s no way, with 24 sports, that you’re going to be able to do that.
