Nebraska wider receiver JD Spielman warms up at the start of football practice Aug. 17 at Memorial Stadium.
ERIC GREGORY, Journal Star file photoThere's a good reason Nebraska head coach Mike Riley is excited about what redshirt freshman receiver JD Spielman will bring to the table when Nebraska kicks off Saturday night against Arkansas State.
"When I was getting recruited, on my first visit here, I remember Coach Riley telling me that I reminded him a lot of the Rodgers brothers," Spielman said Tuesday, referring to former Oregon State stars James and Jacquizz.
James Rodgers, now a director of player development at Nebraska, has been someone Spielman said he has looked to for advice as he prepares for his first career start.
