Nebraska freshman quarterback Adrian Martinez was held out of drills for the third straight day Wednesday as the Huskers continued preparation for Saturday's home game against Troy.

Martinez, who suffered a right-knee injury last week against Colorado, walked past reporters following Wednesday's workout wearing a green practice jersey and no pads. He wasn't walking with a noticeable limp. He can practice on a limited basis without pads, Husker offensive coordinator Troy Walters said.

"He's progressing every day," the coach said. "He's out on the field progressing. He's meeting with coach 'V' (Mario Verduzco). He's making sure he learns the game plan.
