For the 26th consecutive year, at least one Husker will play in the Super Bowl. Both Ndamukong Suh (Rams) and Rex Burkhead (Patriots) will represent the Big Red on the NFL's biggest stage this year.
In the NFC Championship on Sunday afternoon, the Rams defeated the Saints in overtime, 26-23. Suh started at nose tackle and racked up four tackles, 1.5 sacks for 6.5 yards, one tackle for loss and two quarterback hurries. He appeared in 91 percent of the team's defensive opportunities and was also in for seven snaps on special teams.
Sunday night, Burkhead made headlines, scoring the final touchdown in regulation for the Patriots and also running in the game-winner in overtime.
