In an effort to avoid last year’s struggles, Matt Rhule and Marcus Satterfield took an aggressive approach in targeting their new starting quarterback through the transfer portal. Satterfield visited five different quarterbacks, but seemed to have locked onto Ohio State’s Kyle McCord as the guy.
Kyle McCord entering the portal was a bit of a surprise. McCord had a good season for the Buckeyes as helped them to an 11-1 record while throwing for 3,776 yards and 24 touchdowns. To put it bluntly, McCord was solid but not spectacular. Probably why Ohio State believes they can upgrade and willing to push McCord out the door.
