Nebraska football coach Mike Riley has added some NFL flavor to his staff.
As expected, John Parrella was officially named defensive line coach Wednesday. The former Grand Island resident played 12 seasons in the NFL. He comes to Nebraska from Northern Michigan, where he coached defensive linemen the previous two seasons
Riley also announced the hiring of a former NFL general manager in an administrative capacity in the Nebraska program.
Billy Devaney takes over as executive director of player personnel and special assistant to the head coach. Devaney has more than three decades of experience in the National Football League in administrative and player personnel roles.
