Pardon the interruption: Freshman paces 'Cats past Nebraska

Well, if nothing else, Nebraska’s 81-72 loss to Northwestern provided Elijah Thomas a first-hand account the need for his services.

The 6-foot-9, 235-pound forward, a transfer from Texas A&M, was among the 12,657 spectators at Pinnacle Bank who watched a player in his second career game have his way against Nebraska’s small frontcourt.

Dererk Pardon, a 6-foot-8, 230-pound true freshman, finished with 28 points and 12 rebounds in helping Northwestern rally from a 12-point deficit in the Big Ten Conference opener for both teams.

Perhaps it’s a decent sell for Thomas, who was on his official recruiting visit and is also considering Clemson, Arizona State and Gonzaga.
