Wide receiver Darren Carrington was dismissed from the team, according to The (Eugene) Register-Guard. The departure comes after Carrington was arrested on July 1 on suspicion of driving while under the influence of intoxicants. Carrington was initially suspended indefinitely before Friday's news.
According to Eugene police, Carrington was arrested after colliding with a pole in the drive-through lane at a McDonald’s near the Oregon campus. He also was cited for careless driving and making an improper turn, according to the Register-Guard.
Carrington caught 112 passes for 1,919 yards and 15 touchdowns in three seasons.
The wideout did not play in the 2014 College Football Playoff championship game after failing an NCAA-administered drug test, the Register-Guard reported.
