Sparked by a six-running first inning, No. 12 Missouri shut out the Huskers for the second straight day, this time 9-0, in the Columbia Regional of the NCAA Tournament.
The win comes two years after Nebraska defeated the Tigers twice on this very same field to end Missouri’s season.
Nebraska (35-21), after losing the first game in 2014, won four straight games, including the last against Missouri to advance to Super Regionals. It’s the only time Missouri has not advanced past the regional round since 2008.
On Saturday, the first three Tigers (42-14) got a hit, including senior Sami Fagan, who drove a two-run double to the right-center gap.
