Nebraska sophomore Daniel Leal captured his first Big Ten medal, taking silver in parallel bars at Saturday's conference event finals in Columbus, Ohio.
Leal had never scored a 15 or better on bars at the collegiate level before the Big Tens. But he stuck his landing and scored a personal-best 15.425. He scored a 15.200 during Friday's qualifying.
Ohio State's Sean Melton later scored a 16.175 to take his second gold medal of the evening. Leal's teammate, freshman Anton Stephenson, placed eighth in the event.
Five Huskers competed during the individual event finals following Friday's sixth-place finish in the team race.
