Nebraska senior Jordan Ehly and Lincoln Southwest High School senior Alana Palmer were among the winners during the first day of the Lincoln Sectional VIII championships Wednesday at Woods Pool.
Ehly won the women's 200-meter breaststroke in a personal-best time of 2 minutes, 30.97 seconds. Lincoln Pius X's Caroline Theil touched in 2:38.44 to finish third in the event.
The top three spots in the women's 100 freestyle were occupied by Southwest Silver Hawks. Palmer won in :57.85, and graduates Dannie Dilsaver (:58.19) and Olivia Calegan (:58.23) finished second and third, respectively.
Another Husker, junior Jacqueline Jeschke, won the women's 200 backstroke in 2:18.
