Tai Webster isn’t the only Nebraska basketball player who had a breakout performance in the Barclays Classic in New York.
Sophomore center Jake Hammond enters Tuesday night’s game against No. 21 Miami coming off his first career double-double – 11 points and 10 rebounds in an 82-71 victory over Tennessee.
Of course, it’s fair to point out that the 6-foot-10, 235-pound Hammond played against a Tennessee team that’s even smaller than Nebraska, believe it or not. The Volunteers’ starting lineup goes 6-4, 6-2, 6-7, 6-4, 6-4, and their tallest player on the roster is a 6-9 freshman who played 15 minutes against the Huskers.
