The smell of field turf every morning before practice sparks the hype, and serves as a reminder why Ferguson plays the game.
"I could be tired early when I wake up at 6 in the morning or 5:30 in the morning, and I'm like, 'Man, I don't know,'" Ferguson said. "By the time I hit the field, I'm super-hyped. You got to be excited about it. This game is full of emotion. If you don't have emotion for the game ... when you go into the indoor facility, you could smell the turf and that's when I start to wake up.
