Medvode, Slovenia – Nebraska women's tennis sophomore Kristina Novak won the Slovenian Winter National Championship this week in Medvode, Slovenia. Novak beat Noka Juric 6-4, 6-3 to clinch the title.
With the championship, she wraps up an impressive year after earning First-Team All-Big Ten honors for the 2020-21 season, while also being named to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in both the fall and spring semesters.
Novak started off competition with two dominating performances, the first against Pika Doberlet, where Novak won 6-2, 6-0. In the second match, she faced Lara Flerin winning 6-3, 6-0.
