Tom Osborne will be one of three members from the College Football Playoff committee who will rotate out of their roles after this year, chairman Jeff Long told reporters on Sunday.
Also rotating out is former Big East commissioner Mike Tranghese and Mike Gould, former superintendent at the Air Force Academy.
Osborne has been one of the most recognizable members of the committee in its first two years, with the 13 members on Sunday finalizing the four teams for this year's College Football Playoff: Clemson, Alabama, Michigan State and Oklahoma.
Generally, members of the committee serve three-year terms, but the terms of the original participants are staggered for the purpose of building a rotation.
