When running back Greg Bell left Nebraska's program earlier this month, it was widely regarded as a surprising development -- and perhaps a significant loss.
After all, the junior college transfer started three of the first four games before his departure was announced the Friday before an Oct. 6 game at Wisconsin.
Turns out, it was a case of addition by subtraction, as senior Devine Ozigbo and freshman Maurice Washington have become a formidable tandem.
"To be honest with you, I'm glad it went that way," Husker head coach Scott Frost said Monday. "Those two guys, given their chance, have really shined, and that's made us a better football team.
