Hannah Whitish scored 20 points, including a big three-pointer in the final minute of the game, to help lead the Nebraska women’s basketball team to a 80-72 win against Illinois on Wednesday in Champaign, Illinois.
The game ended a three-game road trip for the Huskers, and Nebraska won all three, against Minnesota, Northwestern and Illinois. Nebraska has won seven straight games away from Lincoln, after having a 0-13 record away from Lincoln last season.
Nebraska held on to get the win. The Huskers led 70-58 with 6:33 left in the fourth quarter, but then went more than five minutes without making a field goal and Illinois got its deficit to 74-72.
