The Nebraska women’s basketball team battled back from a 14-point deficit and took a late lead, but lost to No. 13 Maryland 77-75 on Sunday in College Park, Maryland.
The Huskers took a 75-74 lead with 49 seconds left in the fourth quarter on a three-pointer by Hannah Whitish. That was the Huskers’ first lead since early in the first quarter.
But Maryland ended the game on a 3-0 run by making 3-of-4 free throws. Nebraska had the ball with 13 seconds left with a chance to tie or win. Whitish missed a three-pointer with 3 seconds left in the game.
