In the pregame commentary, Matt Coatney and Jeff Griesch announced that Allison Weidner has suffered her third significant knee injury in as many seasons and is out. It happened in practice and it sounds like it is pretty serious. I can’t help but feel terrible for her - this has to be devastating, not only physically but mentally as well.
In good news, this was a great win for Nebraska. Rutgers may have been 0-5 in the Big Ten coming into this game, but they are always a tough team and really difficult to beat at home. The Huskers earned this one with their freshman point guard and senior center making sure they secured the “W”.
