Nebraska volleyball sweeps Northwestern; face big test at No. 7 Illinois

The Nebraska volleyball team passed its first test of a weekend road trip with a win against Northwestern, although not to coach John Cook’s liking, and now comes the Huskers’ biggest test of the Big Ten season so far, on Saturday against seventh-ranked Illinois.

Playing outside the state of the Nebraska for the first time on Friday, the third-ranked Huskers swept Northwestern 25-19, 25-12, 25-23 in Evanston, Illinois. Nebraska has won 12 consecutive matches.

Sophomore middle blocker Lauren Stivrins had a match for record book. Stivrins had 10 kills on 10 swings, becoming the third player in Nebraska history to have a perfect 1.
