It's official! Kayla Banwarth is your new assistant coach for Husker Volleyball. Banwarth replaces Dani Busboom-Kelly who was officially announced as Louisville's women's volleyball game in November.
Banwarth's only previous coaching experience is her work as a volunteer assistant coach for the Pepperdine men's volleyball team in 2015 and 2016. She played volleyball at Nebraska from 2007-2010, has been the libero for the U.S. women's volleyball team since 2011 and earned a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
New assistant, new year, new journey! There is no place like Nebraska ! #loverthisteam #huskervb2017

"Whenever I have a chance to hire a former player to coach at Nebraska volleyball, it’s something I strongly consider because they understand what this program is about," Cook said.
