Nebraska Volleyball: John Cook Announces Retirement

After 25 seasons at the helm, John Cook stuns the volleyball world announcing his retirement as Head Coach of Nebraska Volleyball. Cook retires as one of the great volleyball coaches of all time, winning four National Championships, appearing in 12 NCAA semifinals and earning 14 conference titles in both the Big 12 and the B1G.

Alongside his lofty accomplishments he is known for his “dream big” mantra. It was his penchant to think big that brought the Memorial Football Stadium match to life, a world record setting event with 92,003 at a women’s sporting event.

On the back of his success, the University of Nebraska executed his dream of renovating the Devaney Center into one of the nation’s premier volleyball venues.
