Allie Sczech committed to join the Huskers in 2025. Sczech is a 6’4’’ graduate student transfer. The left-handed opposite is a two-time All-Big 12 second-team selection. Sczech averaged 2.44 kills per set on a .273 hitting percentage last season for Baylor. She has one year of eligibility remaining.
Nebraska needed more depth at the right-side hitter position. Merritt Beason graduated and moved to professional volleyball following the 2024 Husker season. That left zero true right-side hitters on the roster.
There was talk of one of the left side hitters training more on the right-side, but that switch is a real challenge.
