While Nebraska sweeping Rutgers is always good to see, there was another match today that gained a lot more attention. SMU took down #1 Pitt to give them their first loss of the year.
Why is this important for the Huskers you ask? Well this is important because this means that Nebraska will mostly likely be ranked #1 when rankings come out Monday afternoon. That Purdue win meant even more than we thought it did now.
This will possibly be the first #1 ranking Nebraska will see this season after they could’ve received it after Texas lost their first match, but didn’t because they lost to SMU that same week.
