Nebraska jumped out to an early 8-1 lead Sunday afternoon, before holding off the Purdue Boilermakers, winning by a final score of 9-8. Nebraska starter Matt Waldron gets his fourth win of the season, while Tanner Andrews took the loss for the Boilermakers.
The Huskers would jump out to an early 2-0 lead thanks to Ryan Boldt and Jake Placzek. Boldt would get on base, and Placzek would deposit his sixth home run over the left field wall. Waldron would shut down Purdue for the first three innings, not allowing a base runner.
