Willie Canty, a three-star offensive tackle in Nebraska's scholarship class of 2018, won't be enrolling at NU this year after all.
A graduate of Glades Central High School in Belle Glade, Florida, Canty is bound for Garden City (Kansas) Community College, according to Broncbusters head coach Jeff Sims.
"During recruiting we were on him and went out and saw him in Florida," Sims said Wednesday morning. "When he signed with Nebraska, we stayed behind the scenes and if he didn't qualify, we were going to take him."
Sims, who guided Garden City to the 2016 NJCAA championship, is thrilled to have the 6-foot-6, 290-pound Canty in the fold.
