Nebraska said it plans to play Oklahoma as scheduled this season and won't seek to replace the game with an eighth one at home, after reports surfaced that the school was trying to get out of the matchup.
"Due to the economic devastation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic to Husker Athletics and the local community, our administration did explore the possibility of adding an eighth home game this fall," Nebraska athletic director Bill Moos said in a statement Friday afternoon. "That option would have helped us mitigate cost-cutting measures and provide a much-needed boost to our local economy.
