Big Ten baseball made a lot of noise the past couple of years.
Illinois was a national power last year and the Big Ten had a record five teams, including Big Ten Tournament champ Michigan, make the NCAA Tournament.
Before that, Purdue and Indiana ran the show.
This year, Michigan State is ranked No. 21 in the coaches poll. The RPI rankings, through the nonconference schedule, show Michigan State at 31, Michigan 36th, Nebraska 44th and Maryland 47th.
