Nebraska makes quick work of Bethune-Cookman for second victory

That’s exactly what Scott Frost and his Husker coaching staff hoped for this week, so chalk it up to a productive day all around.

The 45-9 win over hastily scheduled FCS opponent Bethune-Cookman looks good in the win-loss column and in the stat book, but more importantly, it gave Frost’s first team a chance to play a full, 12-game schedule.

Unlike that September evening which was supposed to be the opening verse of the Frost tenure and instead turned into a lightning-filled waiting game ending in nothing but disappointment and makeup negotiations that ultimately went nowhere, this game was played in ideal weather and both teams essentially got what they came for: A day of work and, for the visitors, an $800,000 thank you.
