While much of the focus for Nebraska football is on what’s happening on the field with spring workouts, there was more off-the-field news surfacing Monday about the latest developments in the legal case of running back Maurice Washington.
Washington, who is involved in a legal matter in his home state of California for sending an illicit video to an underage girl, traveled to the state to, according to Nebraska football head coach Scott Frost, be “processed.”
According to a spokesman from the Santa Clara Sheriff’s office, Washington surrendered himself to authorities. That explained the absence of Washington who was not at practice Monday, which caught the attention of the local media.
