If the last name Asante sounds familiar to you as a Nebraska football fan, that’s because it is. It’s the last name that belonged for former Husker standout Larry Asante and hopefully, Nebraska will have another Asante playing for it soon as NU offered Larry’s younger brother Eugene Thursday.
The offer came one day after early national signing day, which opened the early signing period Wednesday. While Nebraska football landed some key guys, including four-star defensive end Ty Robinson, the Huskers are still looking for more edge rushers.
Apparently, that is why Nebraska has offered three-star outside linebacker Eugene Asante, who is also being pursued by teams like Virginia Tech and Maryland.
