As the offseason begins for Nebraska football, the team definitely has high expectations for next season. You heard that last year as well. Even still, some of the veteran leaders are taking charge of a team that has many young, impressionable players.
Perhaps more than anything, this team understands that success is a work in progress. Just ask quarterback DiCaprio Bootle. Bootle finished with 17 tackles, six pass deflections, and an interception last year. He certainly had a great year, and he is definitely looking to build off of that. As corner Lamar Jackson tries to take his talents to the NFL, Bootle will have to be a player that can fill the void.
