It’s not even Early Signing Day yet, and Nebraska Football has landed yet another recruit. 2020 three-star weak-side defensive end Jimari Butler committed to the program. He made the announcement on Twitter earlier Monday afternoon.
Butler is the 35th overall weak side defensive end in his class, and the 32nd overall player in his class from the state of Alabama per the 247Sports composite rankings. He was recruited to Nebraska by Erik Chinander. Many other teams were in the hunt during his recruitment. In addition to Nebraska, he also received offers from TCU, Tennessee, Illinois, and Kansas.
He was originally committed to Tennessee, but he came out to Lincoln and felt comfortable with the Nebraska coaching staff as noted per a report from Mike Schaefer of 247Sports.
