The Nebraska softball team owns the No. 5 seed for this week's Big Ten Tournament in State College, Pennsylvania, and will play Purdue in the opening round.
Michigan State's win against Ohio State on Sunday allowed the Huskers to leapfrog the Buckeyes in the league standings.
Nebraska (32-18, 13-9 Big Ten) is coming off a series win against Wisconsin. The Huskers and Badgers played 23 innings over two games Saturday, splitting them. NU won the second game on a three-run walk-off home run from MJ Knighten in the ninth inning.
"I honestly think that this was good for us going into Big Ten Tournament and then on later for postseason," NU senior outfielder Kiki Stokes said Saturday.
