The Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball team showed that it wasn’t done adding players for the 2023 season. They did so with what had to be considered a bit of a surprise commit from a power forward that could end up seeing quite a bit of playing time in the coming season.
Matar Diop announced on Sunday he’d picked the Nebraska Cornhuskers over an impressive collection of contending schools. The 6-foot-9, 210-pound native of Dakar, Senegal, chose Hoiberg’s Heroes over programs like Arizona State, Seton Hall, Ole Miss and a host of others.
It appears that assistant Ernie Ziegler played a big part in the Nebraska basketball program landing Diop.
