Penn State took an early lead on the Huskers. The Nittany Lions managed to get out of a two on jam in the top half of the first, before scoring a pair of runs in the home half.
Matt Waldron would give up four singles. The Nittany Lions would manage to find holes in the defense as none of the balls were particularly well hit.
